You can only enter the park in authorized vehicles. Jeeps that can accommodate 4 people, along with a driver and a guide, and small trucks called canters, which can accommodate around 15-20 people are available for hire outside the gates of the Ranthambore National Park.
Essential equipment:
- The summer sun can be very strong. A straw hat or sunshade, scarves, sunglasses and sunscreen are essential
- If you intend to take many pictures, bring extra rolls of film, memory cards for digital cameras and extra batteries
- A good pair of binoculars are very useful while on safari
- If you normally take any medication, bring an adequate supply with you. Though chemists' stores are easily accessible in India, your specific brand of medication may not be sold here or may have a generic variant sold under a different name.
