Our 'Tiger Tiger burning bright' itinerary now has two options. In the first option you can stay at beautiful forest lodges, while the other option is a stay in luxury tented camps.

Day 1: Delhi [B]

On arrival in Delhi, you will be received by our representative, who will help you check into your hotel. Relax and then leave for a tour of Old and New Delhi, where you see the Red Fort, Jama Masjid, Qutab Minar, Humayun's Tomb, India Gate and other monuments in Delhi. Return to your hotel to stay overnight.

Days 3 - 6: Kanha National Park [B, L, D]

Kanha National Park Jungle TrailThis morning you fly to Nagpur and transfer by road to Kanha Tiger Reserve and either Tuli Tiger Resort or Shergarh Tented Camp where you stay for four nights. Situated in central India in the Satpura Hill ranges, Kanha offers without a doubt, India's finest Tiger-viewing. Grasslands and deciduous forests also support Barasingha, Chital, Muntjac, Sambar, Common Langur, and Rhesus Monkeys, Wild Boar, Asiatic Jackal, three of India's four lowland antelopes (Nilgai, Four-horned Antelope and Blackbuck), and occasionally Leopard, Gaur, Sloth Bear, Wolf and Dhole (Indian Wild Dog). Birdlife present includes Painted Partridge, Shaheen Falcon, Golden Oriole and the omnipresent Red Jungle Fowl. Safaris are on Elephant-back and by jeep.

Tuli Tiger Resort, set in the buffer zone of the park, has eighteen air-conditioned cottages, each room having en-suite facilities. Public areas include an audio/video theatre, pool table, library, swimming pool and a restaurant.

Shergarh Tented Camp is situated four kilometres from the Mukki (southern) entrance to Kanha Tiger Reserve. Its six tents are individually spaced inside a wooden grove to provide privacy, each having a verandah and private facilities.

Days 7 - 10: Bandhavgarh National Park [B, L, D]

Today you make the long transfer by road to Bandhavgarh National Park and either Tiger Trails Resort or Churhat Kothi Camp for a 4-night stay. Mammals found here include Chital, Sambar, Muntjac, Nilgai, Chinkara, Chowsingha, Wild Boar, Leopard, Dhole and of course Tiger. Birdlife also abounds with over 275 species of bird including hornbills, orioles, parakeets, peacocks, and eagles. Wildlife viewing is on Elephant-back and by jeep.

Tiger Trails Resort consists of twelve two-bedroom cottages spread over a four-hectare site, each with ensuite facilities. There is a well-stocked library, restaurant and bar area. The lodge overlooks a private lake, which attracts a variety of resident and migratory birds.

All twelve spacious safari tents at Churhat Kothi are raised on concrete platforms, each having en-suite facilities. Electricity is confined to the public areas, which include a dining room and a lounge area.

Days 11 - 12: Agra [B]

Transfer to the station for the overnight train to Agra. On arrival in Agra on Day 12, you will be met and transferred to the Trident Hotel, where you will be based for the night. The Trident is a first-class hotel set in beautiful landscaped gardens.

Depart on a tour of Agra and the Taj Mahal. The Taj Mahal was built as a monument of love by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan in 1630 for his Queen Mumtaz Mahal, to enshrine her mortal remains. For 22 years, 20,000 men labored day and night to build this masterpiece which has held the world in awe ever since. Agra Fort and the nearby long deserted city of Fatehpur Sikri are also well worth a visit.

Days 13 - 16: Ranthambore Tiger Reserve [B, L, D]

Today you board the train to Sawai Madhopur where you will be met and transferred to Ranthambore Tiger Reserve and either Nahargarh or Sher Bagh for a 4-night stay.Situated in Rajasthan, Ranthambore's rolling hills, dry dhok forest and tranquil lakes, decorated with the crumbling ruins of numerous temples and a hilltop fort, possess all the princely splendour of this famous Rajput State. The park offers one of the best opportunities for seeing Tigers during the day, as well as many other mammals, including Leopard, Sloth Bear, Rhesus Macaque, Common Langur, Nilgai, Chinkara, Wild Boar, jackal, Sambar and Chital. The birdlife here is also excellent, particularly around the lakes where you will also have the opportunity to view the famous Marsh Mugger Crocodiles. Wildlife-viewing is by jeep.

Nahargarh is surrounded by a 16th Century fortress and built in the style of a traditional Rajput hunting palace. Airconditioned rooms on the first floor have individual courtyards and en-suite facilities. There is also a swimming pool.

Sher Bagh is situated at the edge of Ranthambore National Park along its northern periphery. The camp consists of ten luxurious tents in a style originally designed for the Maharaja of Jodhpur at the turn of the century. Each tent has a verandah and bathroom with hot and cold running water, and electricity. Meals are served in the dining tent and much of the produce is organically grown locally.

Day 17. Delhi [B]

After a morning game drive transfer back to the train station for the journey to Delhi. After dinner and a short night's rest at the Radisson Hotel, you are transferred to the airport in the early hours, for your flight home.
