Raj Bagh Talao

Raj Bagh TalaoThe Raj Bagh Talao is possibly the most fascinating of the three large lakes in Ranthambore National Park. The Raj Bagh ruins located along the bank of the lake add to its exotic ambience. The Raj Bagh Talao is partially covered with marshy plants on which the Sambar or Swamp Deer feed. Cattle egrets are seen riding on the backs of deer and feeding alongside. Tigers are often seen stalking the deer that come to drink and feed in the Raj Bagh Talao in National Park Ranthambore.

The Raj Bagh Talao is an important source of food and water for many of the herbivorous inhabitants of National Park Ranthambore. Sambar, Chital, Nilgai and Blackbuck are seen drinking alongside, peacocks, and wild boar. All the animals rush away when a tiger's presence is sensed and alarm calls are heard. Through the day many different groups of animals and birds can be seen near the Raj Bagh Talao, in an amazing interplay of connected lives that makes up the unique ecosystem of the National Park Ranthambore.
