Padam Talao

Padam TalaoThe Padam Talao is the biggest lake in National Park Ranthambore. It is named Padam after the beautiful lotuses that bloom in the lake. The hunting lodge called Jogi Mahal is located near the bank of the Padam Talao. The view from the Jogi Mahal is a splendid one. Tourists can see deer including chinkara, drinking from the edge of the lake. Tigers are often seen near Padam Talao. Genghis, one of the legendary tigers of Ranthambore was famous for hunting deer that came to the lakeside to drink. Fierce duels between tigers and crocodiles over their prey can be seen at Padam Talao.

The tranquil surface of the Padam Talao, reflects Nature red in tooth and claw. Animals including herds of deer, tigers, wild boar and other wildlife can be seen drinking from the lake during the early morning and late evening. The Padam Talao can provide nature watchers and photographers with many moments of wonder, while on tours to National Park Ranthambore.
