Anantpura and Lakarda

Anantpura and LakardaNational Park Ranthambore has several distinct regions, with varying physical features and vegetation. Each region is home to different animals and wildlife. The Anantpura region located in the northern part of National Park Ranthambore and the Lakarda region, in the Northwestern part of National Park Ranthambore are known for their vegetation interspersed with many anthills. The anthills are a favorite food source of sloth bears. The Anantpura and Lakarda regions are therefore the most likely place to see sloth bears in their natural habitat in Ranthambore National Park.

The pug marks and traces of Indian striped Hyenas are also observed in Anantpura and Lakarda. However hyenas are nocturnal and are not easily seen. They exact number in the National Park Ranthambore is not known. Animals normally seen in the Ranthambore National Park, which are commonly seen in Anantpura and Lakarda include mongoose, wild boar, porcupines, monkeys and jungle cats.
