Sariska National Park
Sariska National Park is located not far from Jaipur, the capital of Rajasthan and is also easily accessible from Delhi, the capital of India. Sariska National Park was previously the hunting ground of the royal family of Alwar. Sariska tiger reserve was declared a National Park in 1979. With a core area of 480 Km and an extended area of 800 sq Km, Sariska is an important wildlife sanctuary in India. You can see many species of Deer, including Chital, Blackbuck and Chinkara in Sariska National Park. Nilgai are also commonly seen as are monkeys and langurs. Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary
The Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary, also known as the Koladeo Ghana National Park, is one of the best places to see birds in their natural habitat in India. Maharaja of Bharatpur built a dam to prevent the flooding of Bharatpur town in 1760, the resulting depression, became Bharatpur Lake, which attracted many birds and became the duck shooting ground of the Maharaja. Called Koladeo after a local Shiva Temple and Ghana because of the dense vegetation, Koladeo Ghana National Park, Declared a National Park in 1982 and a World Heritage Site in 1985, Bharatpur is a unique biodiversity spot in India. Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary is home to many rare birds. Many migratory birds travel to Bharatpur to spend the winter here.
