The Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary, also known as the Koladeo Ghana National Park, is one of the best places to see birds in their natural habitat in India. Maharaja of Bharatpur built a dam to prevent the flooding of Bharatpur town in 1760, the resulting depression, became Bharatpur Lake, which attracted many birds and became the duck shooting ground of the Maharaja.
